Overview
The Osprey Hotel & Spa originally opened over 15 years ago as a flagship hotel & spa in the thriving county town of Naas, Co. Kildare. The hotel was acquired recently by the PREM Group, an Irish based international hotel & hospitality group.
PREM Group have ambitious plans to refurbish and rejuvenate the hotel to re-position it as the premier 4-star hotel and spa in the region. As part of the revitalisation of the hotel,
PREM Group engaged Douglas Wallace Consultants to design and manage the revitalisation of the key public spaces in the hotel. The first phase of this renovation & reimaging of the hotel has just been completed, consisting of the complete re-design and fit-out of the hotel lobby and restaurant spaces – the first spaces experienced by hotel patrons and local customer and the key spaces to set the tone for the rest of the forthcoming upgrades.

The space has been transformed
Our Role
The two previously separate lobby waiting area & under-utilised restaurant/ breakfast room spaces have been completely re-imagined as opened up linked spaces (renamed as “Herald & Devoy”) anchored by a stunning new circular coffee dock/ wine bar at the centre of the new layout.
This acts as the visual and functional focal point of the overall space. Varying wall treatments of antique mirrors and brickwork allied to dramatic pendant lighting creates strong visual backdrops for the space.
The new design has also transformed the operation of the space and allowed for new selling opportunities in the restaurant which is now usable all day and in the lobby areas, which has been transformed in to a vibrant space for impromptu meetings, coffee, lunch and relaxation space in what was previously an underused waiting area providing no commercial revenue.
