Conference Centre for Clayton Cardiff Lane

Our longstanding client, Dalata Hotel Group, asked us to look at the ground floor area of their Dublin City Centre Hotel on Cardiff Lane.
Servicing a mostly corporate client, they saw and seized the opportunity to create a, flexible, state of the art conference facility that would cater for the meeting and events needs of not just their existing client but, leveraging its location surrounded by International corporate offices, its cohort of potential new clients.

The brief called for us to create a technologically smart and professional space. Our client, anxious to create a destination venue, gave us permission to work with and beyond the Clayton design guidelines to do something different. This resulted in the striking glass staircase connecting the upper mezzanine level to the ground floor. It also enabled the opening of an almost double-height entrance introducing tons of natural light, often lacking in places like this but so important in a working environment.
Keeping the design clean and muted, the result is an elegant, quietly sophisticated environment that showcases its integrated technological capabilities in an accessible and user-friendly fashion.

The refurbished space, previously a ground floor storage area, brings an added commercial dimension to the hotel so close to the city centre and Dublin’s fashionable shopping district.
It offers conference and meetings facilities for up to 300 people in one seated theatre with the option to create up to six smaller meeting and break-out rooms for up to 30 people each.
Designed by Gerry Hand and project managed by Joe Gallagher, this facility, combined with the hotel’s Club Vitae leisure centre and Dublin’s large swimming pool, makes The Clayton, Cardiff Lane a destination not just for local businesses but for international professional clientele.
