Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club

Overview

The current building was designed by Stephenson Gibney and completed in 1973 and has served the club and its members well to date. With everyone’s higher expectations the Clubhouse needed to be renovated and modernised. Douglas Wallace, having been engaged to create a dramatic environment reflective of a modern sporting & leisure facility.

The project commenced November 2018 and is currently on site and will be completed Q1 2020. As Architects & Designers the most exciting part of any project is seeing a 2 dimensional drawing becoming a 3 dimensional reality and all that this involves. This involves working day to day with the committee and the members of the Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club in delivering their dream and vision, being part of that enthusiasm and eagerness that projects like this inspire. The external solution is one of simplicity and elegance ensuring the maximum numbers could watch national and international tennis competitions in a fantastic new clubhouse environment.
